An end-to-end (E2E) process refers to a cross-functional process that comprises all the steps necessary to accomplish a specific business goal. Creating and mapping an E2E process like order-to-cash provides an organization with important benefits including:

  • Greater transparency into each step of the process,
  • clarity about how the process moves from one step to the next, and
  • the ability to capture critical knowledge related to specific process steps.

In this article, APQC discusses these and other benefits of E2E processes and provides recommendations for how to address common challenges related to governance and process measurement.
