Applying a Process Framework: Benchmarking

Benchmarking is an approach that organizations use to measure their internal processes and to identify, understand, and adapt practices used by best-in-class organizations. Benchmarking processes both internally and externally helps organizations create an objective foundation for decision making, provide context around performance to identify and prioritize improvements, and uncover new practices for adoption.

This article reviews findings from APQC’s Putting Process Frameworks in Action survey on the benefits that organizations achieve when they leverage process frameworks for benchmarking purposes.
