The road to innovation is paved with failure. Not every idea is going to work, and a large percentage of experiments are bound to fail. The most innovative organizations not only know this—they expect failure and actively embrace it as an inherent part of the innovation process. As a result, these organizations are able to build up a body of knowledge that allows them to learn from failure and continue pushing through to innovation. Drawing from the example set by these organizations, this article explores three ways to embrace failure as a core part of the innovation process:

  2. Celebrate productive failure
  3. Learn from failure
