Evolution of Framework Applications

Process frameworks are a vital part of an effective and sustainable approach to process management.

In this article, APQC compares data from the 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2025 versions of APQC’s Best Practices in Process Frameworks survey. At a high level, APQC finds that more organizations than ever have an opportunity to adopt and implement a framework. Even as organizations continue to face challenges like operational silos and a lack of buy-in for frameworks, those that adopt and leverage frameworks successfully often achieve benefits like better communication around processes and fewer redundant processes.
