In 2008, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), like many organizations, suffered from ad hoc process management and improvement efforts. There was no unified approach or governance, resulting in inefficiencies and no way to objectively determine the "right" resources for improvement opportunities. This case study looks at CHOP's solution including an investment in a team of process managers and a four-phase improvement framework that would combine an array of process methodologies, project management, and analytics.
