APQC Financial Management Principal Research Lead Mary Driscoll discusses the battle against payments fraud.  She has found that seasoned controllers and internal auditors have for years been deploying practices and policies to systematically prevent and detect the typical attempts that target paper checks, corporate credit cards, wires, and the like. But now the cyber-crime dimension is hitting finance. Most large organizations are now working furiously to beat back scams that involve phony emails and direct hacking into network systems.
