Redefining AP: Change Your Thinking, Change Your Function

In December 2015, APQC's Mary Driscoll spoke with Henry Ijams, Managing Director of PayStream Advisors about developments in the accounts payable (AP) function. According to Ijams, a number of organizations are still heavily dependent on manual, paper-based payables processes, mostly due to companies' neglect of back office projects in favor of customer facing initiatives. On the other side, innovative organizations have managed to not only implement new technology to streamline processes, but incorporate a corporate culture that recognizes the strategic importance of AP to the bottom line.
