During APQC's 2013 Process Conference, APQC's Jonathan Kraft and Mary Driscoll discussed what leading practitioners shared with them in documented case studies on how methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma can be tailored specifically for people schooled in rules-based disciplines such as accounting and auditing--and more. They also explained how serious change management principles can make all the difference when effectively used during a lengthy finance transformation effort. In all, they explained what mature organizations are now doing to streamline and standardize finance processes so that more resources can be devoted to boosting the quality and relevance of analytical support that finance provides to business leaders.
