When it comes to training and developing employees, organizations face significant time constraints. Work teams are lean and managers are understandably reluctant to give staff time away from work to engage in formal learning. Yet, learning needs are growing. Organizations today are challenged to keep the rate of employee learning greater than or equal to the rate of change. Ultimately, the question for organizations to ask is: How much time should be allotted to learning in order to stay competitive?
