Eagerly Anticipating My First Data and Analytics Pilgrimage

As part of my professional plan this year, one of my goals is to increase my expertise in the area of analytics. That’s why I decided to ask my manager to send me to an analytics conference. What better way to bolster my analytics knowledge than to surround myself for 48 hours with world-renowned analytics experts from every industry?

In researching the myriad analytics-related conferences available to me, I encountered many that seemed to be quite robust, but they didn’t quite fit what I was trying to learn about the subject. I’m not a software engineer, programmer, or even a statistician, but I am interested in learning how those people’s work ties in with businesses’ strategic objectives and how they conduct work with their more business-oriented colleagues. Strata+Hadoop World fit the bill.

Strata + Hadoop World is the leading event on how big data and ubiquitous, real-time computing is shaping the course of business and society. It brings together the world’s best data scientists and business leaders to share hard-won knowledge and innovations in technology and strategy.

Check out the impressive program and make plans to join me at Strata + Hadoop World in San Jose March 28-31, 2016.
