Unlock Better Business Outcomes with An Open Innovation Operating Model
Open innovation impacts not only the innovation value chain, but also the wider enterprise. Organizations that embrace it as a business strategy must therefore recognize the broader implications for their operating model.
Understanding what capabilities are most critical for success, including how to build them, how to integrate them for better business performance, how technology can enable them, and what investments might be required to achieve them is necessary in order to establish, manage, and evolve an open innovation capability.
The Ecosystem Enabled Innovation Maturity Model (EEIMM) is an open innovation maturity assessment you can use to evaluate your capability and benchmark results with industry peers. The assessment evaluates the capabilities organizations have in place to enable collaborative value creation from:
- Strategy and Culture
- Ecosystem Capability
- Internal Capacity
- Technology Enablement
There are four to eight questions on specific capabilities and practices across five levels of maturity. Organizations select the option that most closely matches their practices in an interactive tool and then submit their answers to APQC for tabulation, comparisons, and report generation.
Organizations that are more mature across the four components significantly outperform those who are less mature. They innovate at greater speed, scale, and effectiveness, and can convert better innovation performance into superior business performance. This assessment will help you understand where your biggest gaps are and where you need to focus your attention for growth.
Submitting Your Assessment
All submissions to this assessment must be collected using APQC's easy-to-use pdf data collection form. This PDF data collection tool consist of the survey itself and any relevant information needed to understand the survey and complete the data collection form. The consolidated data collection tool is intended to simplify the collection of data within your organization. Note there is a small fee to cover processing and reporting.
Once you have completed the data collection form, click the submit button in the tool or upload the file using APQC's secure file upload tool.
APQC analysts will immediately begin validation of your submission and contact you if any questions need to be addressed before finalizing your assessment results report. The report will include detailed views of your assessment results and comparisons to other organization’s maturity.
