The purpose of this article is to present the key considerations for organizations looking to assess if a process is being executed the way it was documented and if there are any identifiable deficiencies. 

The “auditor” or “auditor team” can typically be found in process improvement teams or business process management teams and would be the person to typically complete the audit.

Audit teams could also pair the guidance in this article with the process audit template that evaluates the maturity of individual processes.
