A lot of process work is about documenting how work gets done. But to drive improvement, process people also need to constantly ask why. Why is this task done this way? Why does this person do it rather than that person? Why do we measure it the way we do? Process people need the creative and systems thinking skills to continually ask why and the soft skills to encourage others to answer truthfully.
