The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority needed to accelerate its capabilities for modeling and improving processes across the enterprise, so they created a centralized process improvement team in 2014 and started building buy-in for process improvement by identifying grassroots use cases and collecting testimonials from the business. The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority uses 3D simulation software to model real work environments and test potential process improvement solutions. This case study explores:

  • how the process improvement team integrated the software and skills necessary for simulation
  • how the process improvement team uses a three-phase methodology to deliver simulation projects,
  • and how the process improvement team works with the business to select and work with key stakeholders
