Many leaders in procurement and supply chain are recognizing the need for the development of a new type of procurement professional who has strong soft skills and relationship-building skills and is also data savvy, technologically literate, and comfortable with a more analytical and strategic role.

To assess how organizations are developing procurement professionals for what is to come, APQC conducted research in 2019 to examine the current state of investments in procurement talent and the future skills needed for success. This report showcases responses from organizations with a build-to-stock supply chain capability model.
