Leading Change and Preventing Change Fatigue
Change management involves the ability to proactively manage the “people side” of change, gaining acceptance and minimizing resistance using standard processes and approaches for transitioning employees, teams, or entire organizations to a desired future state. This complex undertaking requires skill and finesse. Ineffective change management can make executing the change harder instead of easier.
APQC’s Madison Lundquist, principal research lead for process and performance management (PPM), sat down with Lynda Braksiek, principal research lead for knowledge management (KM), to discuss how to drive effective change in organizations. In this article, Lundquist interviews Braksiek, a longtime KM and change leader, about leading organizational change and preventing the “change fatigue” that can result from frequent change initiatives.
