Cargill, a multinational organization based in Minnesota, is one of the largest privately held corporations in the United States. The organization’s 160,000 employees work from 70 different countries and partner across more than 125 markets to provide food, ingredients, agricultural solutions, and industrial products. Cargill reported revenues of $160 billion in FY 2024.

Like many large organizations, Cargill faced challenges related to knowledge silos that made it difficult for employees to find and reuse resources like process models. However, the organization was able to meet this challenge through the work of its business process management center of excellence (CoE).

In an interview with APQC, Global ERP Excellence Lead Stacey Vokrot-Mello and Business Process architect Nubia Mendez shared insights and lessons learned from their journey with the CoE to transform process modeling across Cargill. By implementing standardization and providing user training, Cargill has greatly reduced the number of disparate process repositories while driving excitement and participation in its new centralized process repository.
