Inside APQC's Benchmarking Methodology: Analyze Phase

Benchmarking is a continuous learning process, it involves understanding the quantitative side of performance—what is being measured and how the process performs—and examining and adapting the enabling factors that allow the process to perform in such a manner that defines it as best practice.
APQC’s Benchmarking Methodology highlights this continuous cycle by breaking the process into four phases: plan, collect, analyze, and adapt (Figure 1).
This article details the purpose, steps, roadblocks, results, and tools associated with the analyze phase of the methodology. You can find breakdowns of the rest of the phases in the Benchmarking Basics collection.
