In 2022, APQC surveyed KM programs to understand current KM benchmarks, metrics, and success drivers. The report looks at differences among KM programs based on their level of centralization.

It compares KM programs that are centralized (where oversight and implementation are consolidated in a single group), decentralized (where oversight and implementation are distributed across business units and departments), and hybrid (where a central team provides oversight, but implementation in distributed).
