Comparing Organizational Analytics Maturity across Functional Areas



Prepared using APQC’s Open Standards Benchmarking® data, this article compares analytics maturity of different functional areas and sub-functions. Given the great fanfare surrounding the applications of analytics in customer-facing functions (e.g., sales, marketing, and advertising) and the long history of IT and analytics capabilities, APQC hypothesized that sales and marketing functions and IT would exhibit higher analytics maturity levels than other “back office” functions.

This article explores that hypothesis and reveals other findings from the cross-functional comparison.
