APQC Promotes John Tesmer to Executive Director, Information Technology

Tesmer, formerly director of APQC’s Open Standards Benchmarking department, will oversee APQC’s IT team and operations and establish APQC’s long-term technology vision

(HOUSTON, TEXAS – January 28, 2020)APQC, the benchmarking and best practices authority, has promoted John Tesmer to the role of Executive Director, Information Technology. In this role, Tesmer will ensure that APQC’s technology efficiently and effectively supports the business needs. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of APQC’s IT systems, tools and processes, Tesmer leads the IT team and establishes APQC’s long-term technology vision.

“Since joining APQC in 2006, John has been instrumental in building the Open Standards Benchmarking® (OSB) database from an idea, data and an Excel spreadsheet to one of our most impactful and valuable business offerings,” says Lisa Higgins, APQC’s president and chief executive officer. “Today, the OSB repository houses more than 2.4 million data points and provides thousands of benchmarks to our members and professional services firms throughout the world each year. In addition, John oversaw the release of nineteen new Process Classification Frameworks®, which have become the organizing principle for thousands of organizations’ process work.”

Previously, Tesmer was director of APQC’s Open Standards Benchmarking department, where he was responsible for innovation in benchmarking tools and processes and oversaw custom benchmarking projects. He served as the product owner of both the MosaiQ® tool and of APQC’s Process Classification Framework (PCF)®, the world’s most widely used business process framework.

Tesmer initially joined APQC as a compliance manager responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality of APQC’s benchmarking database. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, with a degree in decision and information science and a minor in economics from the Warrington College of Business.
