Process Knowledge in the Age of Intelligence
Every organization depends on processes to keep work moving. Yet as operations expand and technology advances, those processes often become fragmented and difficult to understand. Data accumulates across systems, automation gets layered on top of manual work, and institutional knowledge gets harder to trace and maintain.
SAP is among the many organizations working to make sense of this complexity. The company has developed a digital knowledge graph platform that connects 50 years of SAP process models, content, and data into one unified network. The aim is to help organizations see how business processes interact, pinpoint inefficiencies, and make better use of data to guide decisions.
To understand more about how connected data is reshaping process and performance management, APQC research lead Madison Lundquist spoke with Dr. Jan Portisch, development head of SAP’s Global Content Group. Their discussion took place following APQC’s 2025 Conference on Knowledge and Process Management, where SAP Signavio, SAP’s suite of business process transformation tools, was a sponsor.
