Measures of success are a key part of any effective business process management (BPM) program. Among other benefits, measures enable BPM teams to set performance goals, find opportunities for improvement, and demonstrate the value of process management for leaders in a data-driven way.

In this article, we draw from the results of our How Process Programs Stack Up survey to provide you with insight about how BPM programs approach measures. While measure selection can vary somewhat based on the features of your BPM program, APQC has also found that certain practices—like strategic alignment—should be an important part of any organization’s approach to measures.
