If you’re watching turnover rates increase and struggling with how to retain employees, you’re not alone. Through a recent survey of more than 600 workers, we found that at least 20% of employees said that it would not take a lot to leave their current job. However, 85% said they are willing to go above and beyond in their job performance, so it’s unlikely that these employees are “quiet quitting” or doing a mediocre job on purpose. What’s starting to nudge them away from their current roles? And why is that nudge bigger for remote employees than their hybrid and on-site peers?

The good news is that there are effective strategies for engaging employees that do not require large investments in terms of hard dollars. In this article, we focus our guidance on these simple interventions to help you begin to close some of the most critical employee experience gaps.
