Business Capabilities and How They Relate to Processes
Business capabilities, often referred to as models or frameworks, are commonly described as a combination of:
- People
- Process
- Information
- Technology
Capability models identify and define assets needed on hand to do work, including processes, knowledge, information, tools, equipment, technology, resources, skills, competencies, and capacities. This article examines what a business capability is, how it differs from a process, and how it relates to process frameworks, including APQC’s Process Classification Framework (PCF)®.
