Longtime executive to provide holistic leadership for APQC’s reach, markets, and product offerings in Knowledge Management
(Houston, Texas – January 2, 2024) – APQC, the benchmarking and best practices research firm, has named Cindy Hubert its inaugural Fellow, Knowledge Management (KM). In this newly created role, Hubert will build upon APQC’s rich legacy as one of the pioneers and leaders in the field of Knowledge Management by leading efforts to provide innovative new products, impactful research, and actionable training that meets the needs of both new and expert KM practitioners.
“APQC is one of the world’s foremost authorities in the field of Knowledge Management, and over nearly three decades, Cindy has been instrumental in shaping APQC’s KM methodologies, programs, products, research, and brand,” says Lisa Higgins, CEO for APQC. “The newly created role of Fellow will ensure that APQC’s work in KM continues to meet the needs of the market and creates measurable business impact. There couldn’t be a more prepared and accomplished person than Cindy to assume this critical role for APQC, and we look forward to her leadership in growing our footprint, developing and delivering new products, and expanding our influence in the broader KM community.”
Hubert adds, “This is an exciting time in industry, with unprecedented changes in how work is performed, products are developed, and new technology is deployed. Since the pandemic, these changes have only seemed to accelerate, and as a result, heightened the need to build, document, and deploy critical knowledge, when and where it is needed. I look forward to helping marshal APQC’s substantial KM resources to create innovative new products, research, and training, thus enabling member organizations to better tackle this environment.”
Since joining APQC in 1995, Hubert has helped innovate, develop, and implement the organization’s KM methodologies and practices, becoming a recognized KM expert with both members and the broader KM market. In 2007, Hubert led the development and implementation of APQC’s Levels of Knowledge Management Maturity® framework. This framework is used by organizations globally to guide, develop, and execute their KM strategies and approaches. She was later instrumental in APQC’s creation and launch of its Interactive KM Framework and KM Capability Assessment Tool. Previously, Hubert served as executive director of client solutions and executive director of advisory services, leading more than 500 strategic engagements with APQC clients.
Hubert’s real-world credibility enabled her to become a frequent speaker and webinar presenter on knowledge management topics such as Building and Maturing Your KM Capabilities, Measuring the Impact of KM, Embedding KM Into the Flow of Work, and KM as 1st Responder. She has also authored numerous articles for and been cited in leading journals and magazines. With APQC Chairman Carla O'Dell, Hubert co-authored the book The New Edge in Knowledge: How Knowledge Management Is Changing the Way We Do Business.
She is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing.
