APQC Releases Cloud-Based Business Management Tool MosaiQ 2.0

Updates Enhance the Ability of Organizations to Measure, Manage, and Learn About Their Business Processes and Create Custom Frameworks

(Houston, Texas – April 4, 2017) – APQC, the benchmarking, best practices, process, and performance management authority, has launched the second generation of its cloud-based business process tool, MosaiQ®. Designed to simplify business process management for organizations of all sizes, MosaiQ enables process and knowledge professionals to measure, manage, and learn about their organization’s business processes as well as quickly create and export custom frameworks and collaborate with their team. The tool is available at no charge as part of an organization’s APQC membership.

“MosaiQ offers APQC members a streamlined way to quickly access all of APQC’s process frameworks, benchmarking data, and best practice research,” said John Tesmer, director of Open Standards Benchmarking® for APQC.  "As a result, organizations will understand where they can reduce process redundancies, increase efficiency and productivity, and ultimately, lower costs."

Enhanced Functionality for Fast, Simple Process Framework Creation

With MosaiQ, users can upload and access their own documents, benchmarks, metrics, and best practices as well as tap into APQC’s robust Knowledge Base and its links to thousands of documents on best practices and other content as well as to its Open Standards Benchmarking database. The tool is preloaded with APQC’s cross-industry Process Classification Framework (PCF®) and 18 industry-specific versions.

“APQC members can securely create process models and upload related policies, process diagrams, and other relevant content directly to MosaiQ. Individuals will find MosaiQ easy to use and a significant value to their process management capabilities,” Tesmer continued.

Individuals can quickly drag and drop process elements to create custom frameworks as well as model and map their organizational structure to their process framework, enabling them to better understand performance.

New functionality and enhancements in version 2.0 include:

  •     Full-screen mode
  •     Read-only frameworks
  •     Exports that include process definitions
  •     Streamlined access to the model frameworks
  •     Faster processing
  •     Automatic migration for users with existing MosaiQ frameworks

Platform Meets Organizations at Every Stage of a Process Journey

MosaiQ was designed with several different groups in mind and is applicable across all industries, sizes, and geographies. Seven key audiences and uses include:

  1.     Organizations with a centralized process function looking to improve
  2.     Organizations with a decentralized process function looking to improve
  3.     Departments and/or organizations working around process silos
  4.     Professional services firms that need to prove value and efficiency to their clients
  5.     Organizations with existing process management tools looking to improve
  6.     Groups that need an effective performance dashboard to align strategic goals with executives
  7.     Organizations that want to customize a version of the APQC Process Classification Framework®, or create a brand new one

According to Adeeb Barqawi, CEO for ProUnitas, a nonprofit educational organization, “The MosaiQ platform helped us look at our practices and think about what we need to automate. For example, with student tracking we had 17 processes that could be automated. The clarity and visualization of our processes provided by MosaiQ have been key in our ability to start referencing certain processes. Additionally, the sustainability of knowledge with MosaiQ is a huge value as our staff changes and grows.”
