Virtual training combines proven methodologies, best practices, and real-world techniques to foster organized and organic knowledge transfer
(Houston, Texas – January 29, 2025) – APQC, the leading Knowledge Management (KM) authority since 1995, has extended its Knowledge Management course offerings with a Knowledge Transfer Specialist Certification. The inaugural course will take place on March 4-6, 2025. Three additional course sessions are set for June, September, and November.
APQC began its KM certifications in 2023 with a Certified Knowledge Manager course. The new course focuses on techniques specific to the knowledge transfer process – converting the knowledge inside people’s heads into content, learning materials, tools, and processes that others can use or directly transferring that knowledge to another person.
“The enthusiastic response to our initial Knowledge Management certification course has highlighted the demand for additional training in the proper application and use of critical knowledge,” said Lisa Higgins, CEO of APQC. “A strong knowledge transfer program helps organizations reduce the risk of poor knowledge flow and improve organizational effectiveness. With the continued wave of Baby Boomers retiring and the popularity of remote workplaces, effective knowledge transfer approaches are proving to be a core competitive advantage for organizations.”
The Certified Knowledge Transfer Specialist training will provide a deep learning experience as participants work through actual scenarios to identify, design, implement, and sustain knowledge transfer. With additional change management and communication training, this certification will enable participants to immediately impact their organizations, whether in a single department or enterprise-wide.
The Knowledge Transfer Specialist Certification is in a compact, intensive, instructor-led, three-day format. The course is offered virtually, enabling students to participate anywhere without travel time and expense.
At course completion, participants will have proficiency in:
- Identifying knowledge transfer drivers and opportunities,
- Assessing the degree of knowledge transfer needed,
- Embedding knowledge transfer processes into KM approaches and/or business processes,
- Describing the roles of change management and technology in the knowledge transfer lifecycle,
- Understanding the difference between a knowledge transfer event and a knowledge transfer lifecycle,
- Applying measures that demonstrate the performance of the knowledge transfer lifecycle, and
- Explaining how stakeholders, knowledge management, continuous improvement, and learning sustain knowledge transfer.
Key details:
- Three-day, interactive course delivered virtually between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time
