Transforming process management from an afterthought into a strategic advantage takes vision, persistence, and structure. At Wealth Enhancement Group, that transformation began with a hard-earned lesson: you can’t outsource bad processes, and you can’t scale without strong process documentation. What started as an outsourcing initiative evolved into a company-wide journey to establish enterprise process maturity as a foundation for growth.

This session offered a practical roadmap for building a Business Process Management (BPM) capability from the ground up. The organization established its first dedicated BPM function to align operations with strategic goals. By linking process maturity directly to business outcomes—such as efficiency, scalability, risk reduction, and technology enablement—the BPM team secured executive sponsorship and earned credibility across the enterprise functions.

Presenters dove into approaches that enable you to:

  • Build a compelling leadership pitch for a formal BPM program using scalable frameworks like APQC’s 7 Tenets, the PCF, and the Process Maturity Model.
  • Define BPM system requirements and evaluate technology platforms (e.g., BusinessOptix) to enable modeling, connected workflows, and data-driven decisions.
  • Assess your strengths as a BPM leader and identify development needs while understanding how governance and team structures support BPM maturity.

Participants left with techniques to scale a process maturity program into a true strategic lever with measurable impact.
