When employees retire or move on from critical roles, what happens to their expertise? This question continues to gain increasing importance as organizations see accelerating rates of turnover due to shifts in the business environment and demographics. In fact, “transferring expert knowledge” has ranked in the top three priorities for KM teams for several consecutive years, including 2025 according to APQC’s annual KM Priorities and Trends report.
