APQC’s 2008−2009 Knowledge Management (KM) Advanced Working Group (AWG) created this list of design principles to guide organizations looking to set up or improve their KM programs. The statements represent the wisdom and experience of the AWG members and cover all major elements of KM:

  • strategy,
  • governance and resources,
  • knowledge flow process and methods,
  • technology,
  • knowledge and content,
  • people and culture, and
  • measures and milestones.
