Formal and Informal Ways to Recognize Community Contributions

Almost all the best-practice organizations in APQC’s 2017 Next-Generation Communities of Practice study have rewards and recognition schemes for their communities of practice. In addition to traditional awards, many incorporate newer peer-based and gamification elements inspired by social media. This article describes both classic and innovative community rewards strategies using examples from Accenture, Nalco Water, Medtronic, Schneider Electric, and Schlumberger.
