Under the umbrella of HR, the learning and development organization is the most obvious target for knowledge management (KM) partnership. However, KM may also need to partner with other aspects of HR in order to fulfill its mission—and vice versa. For example, KM needs HR’s support to create people profiles for expertise location systems, and HR may need KM’s data for workforce development and performance evaluations.
