This case study outlines how to establish a central governance structure across a supply chain network of different companies and organizations working together.

It is based on the experience and learnings of the Global Family Planning Visibility and Analytics Network (VAN), whose governance structure includes a multi-partner Steering Committee that defines scope and approach, sets direction, and identifies priorities; a central management unit that oversees day-to-day implementation; and four task forces that play critical roles in channeling the input of different constituencies into decision-making and joint visioning.
