Successful knowledge management programs are backed up by realistic budgets that account for the range of costs involved. If your organization is considering a KM implementation, you will need to reallocate or hire employees to manage it; you will also need to secure direct funding to support your KM tools and approaches. Be prepared to invest not only in a KM core team and technology, but also in content management support, taxonomy development, employee communications and training, and other infrastructure.
