In order to begin a successful knowledge management (KM) strategy, it's important to undertake a series of formal stakeholder interviews to gain different insights from different employees across the organization. The KM team needs to ensure that key customers of the knowledge strategy have a voice in how the strategy is formulated as well as the goals and targets.
