APQC interviewed KM leaders at organizations that have participated in its Knowledge Management Capability Assessment Tool in order to learn about their journeys toward KM maturity, their critical success factors for building robust KM capabilities, and how the assessment process has informed their efforts. 

This case study describes one division’s progress in establishing a multifaceted knowledge management (KM) program using maturity measurement as a strategic tool, as well as how program maturity can progress even as program staffing support lessens.
