Seamless Collaboration Across Boundaries

Tools like Skype and Yammer make it easy to talk to people whether they’re across the room or across the world, so why is it still so hard to break out of our silos and collaborate? APQC doesn’t have all the answers—we wish we did!—but our white paper Seamless Collaboration: Enabling Employees to Work Together Across Boundaries offers some insight into how to lay the groundwork for collaboration in the modern, global workplace.

The white paper is based on work done by APQC’s 2011-2012 KM Advanced Working Group and discusses some of the critical enablers for bringing about collaboration among colleagues from different locations or parts of the business. The Advanced Working Group also designed a Seamless Collaboration Architecture defining requirements for collaboration and scenario planning tools to help knowledge managers understand different employee groups’ collaboration needs. You can find all this great stuff in our Seamless Collaboration Collection, along with a recording of our September community call hosted by APQC KM expert Cindy Hubert. The collection is exclusively for APQC members, but we’ve made the white paper and the architecture available to nonmembers for the month.
