Making Process Change Management Stick

Change is hard…and most people don’t like change.  So, APQC, being APQC, is going to look at how we can make process change stick.  Later on this year, we will be launching a study currently titled, “Making Process Change Management Stick.”  We want to examine and share with others how leading organizations are making process management changes permanent within their company.

We will be looking at how they enable positive change, as well as how they collaborate internally to enable that change.

We have done studies in the past focusing on BPM characteristics, including, Building Strong Process Management Capabilities, and Next Steps in Process Measures and Analytics, but the topic is still compelling as organizations are still struggling with change.  Below you will find our preliminary scope:

Key Areas of the Study Will Include:

  •      Enabling positive change
    •      Understanding the roles and responsibility that come through process change (accountability)
    •      Engaging the workforce and measure adoption and performance improvement (visibility)
    •      Embedding process change in the flow of daily work
  •      Collaboration and changing principles that enable process management
    •      Leveraging COP that exist or forming one that engage the workforce

So, this is our starting point…what I would love is to get some feedback from you.  What do you want to learn about?  What would you like to see us add to this scope?  What would you like us to study that would be meaningful for you?  Please leave us a comment so we can include your input in our study.
