Whew.
It has been an exhausting few months here at APQC, and we aren't planning to slow down either. Among other things, we've had not one, two, or three, but FOUR different teams of people working on new PCF offerings throughout the summer with the intention of releasing them at this year's Process Conference. Here's the list of all that we're planning to release before the end of this year:
- a Mandarin translation of PCF v6.0.0 and all of the corresponding definitions documents
- A new "healthcare payer" PCF
- A new "consumer electronics" PCF
- An updated "banking" PCF (not ready by Process Conference time, but before the end of the 2013)
Not to mention the fact that I just finished a draft of PCF v6.1.0 - which will continue the work we've started with v6.0.0 in rationalizing some of the issues we have had with MECE and HFD in previous releases. For version 6.1.0 we reviewed over 100 issues and accepted a little more than 30 of them. 37 more were approved for a future cross industry PCF release - probably v6.2.0. Look for v6.1.0 to be released in the first part of 2014, but that's not all we'll release then: we've got new releases coming in "automotive" and "pharma" (it's going to change to "life sciences" to better describe what it has been covering for years) and a new PCF covering "insurance", which I know so many of you have been looking for. Once these PCFs have gone through their approval process, you will find them at www.apqc.org/PCF.
It's a very exciting time to be a member of APQC's PCF community - and remember this is an open standard community, driven by people like you, using the frameworks at your organizations.
