What is the key to improving an organization’s manufacturing activities? My colleague Andrea Stroud and I recently spoke on a webinar focused on the steps organizations can take to assess the current state of their manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
Many manufacturing managers are under pressure to be cost competitive while offering unique customer value. In the webinar we examined the steps an organization can take to achieve improvement:
- identifying its manufacturing activities and how they relate to the enterprise;
- benchmarking against others using key measures related to cost effectiveness, cycle time, process efficiency, and staff productivity; and
- looking at how leading organizations have achieved their performance levels.
