In many organizations, the board of directors is responsible for setting policies that ensure the financial health of the organization, verifying financial standing, and providing an oversight for financial activities and performance. The overall success of an organization depends on how well the board carries out these responsibilities. The board, in turn, relies on the finance function—specifically, the CFO—to deliver the right information at the most actionable time.
