Supply chain planners today are asked to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives, drive automation, and build more agile and responsive supply chains. Yet many organizations are overlooking the broader mix of skills required to navigate today’s challenges. 

To better understand how organizations can develop the next generation of supply chain planning talent, APQC collaborated with Dr. Dan Pallathy from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville for a global survey of 462 global supply chain planning professionals. This article highlights our key findings on the skills that are vital for supply chain planning success and where organizations are falling short at developing them.
