The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is a federal agency responsible for the U.S. civilian space program. NASA’s Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, outside of Houston, is the center for mission control for the U.S. human space flight program. Home to the nation’s astronaut corps, the International Space Station mission operations, and the Orion Program, the Johnson Space Center (JSC) leads numerous advanced human exploration projects and plays an important role in NASA’s Commercial Crew programs. Based on a presentation to members of APQC's 2016-2017 KM Advanced Working Group, this case study focuses on how the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Johnson Space Center is using advanced techniques to expand its search and data analysis capabilities.
