How Do Organizations Visualize ERM Reporting?

One of the most important ways that Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) drives value for organizations is that it can help leaders and other key stakeholders make better, more risk-informed decisions. Reporting about risk should include visualizations that are intuitive for executives and other key stakeholders to understand. In this article, we review APQC’s research findings on how organizations in APQC’s recent ERM benchmarking study visualize risk reporting. Along with highlighting some of the most common approaches used by study participants, we provide examples of how organizations create visualizations that tell a compelling story about risk and how the organization may need to respond to it.
