Cross-Functional Involvement in Product and Component Cost Management

The involvement by functions from across an organization is necessary to effectively set product and component cost targets and design to them. APQC's research indicates that almost three-fifths of participating organizations agree that they always engage experts from different functions in cross-functional teams during the development process to ensure the best balance of cost, function, and quality.
