Lisa Zweber-Smith
Former Vice President, Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, MGM Resorts
Lisa has been responsible for identification and implementation of strategies that promote equal access to opportunities for all employees, leverage diversity and build an inclusive environment. She led a team of talented D&I professionals responsible for creating self-directed development opportunities, managing all Employee Network Groups and Corporate Social Responsibility Councils, designing and overseeing mentoring, coaching and sponsorship programs, enhancing company reputation through the completion of external reputation surveys, measuring diversity and inclusion efforts through the use of advanced analytics and developing and delivering D&I education, including a flag ship offering, the Inclusion Champions Workshop.
Drawing on her background in Organization Development and D&I, Lisa passionately drives for productive change through the application of cutting-edge approaches that produce lasting impact. As part of her work in Diversity & Inclusion, Lisa coaches leaders at all levels to develop the skills needed to grow internal talent and fill the talent pipeline. She helps them to surface and address potential unconscious bias and implement strategies to attract, select, develop and retain diverse talent of all kinds, including those in under-represented groups.
Lisa holds an MSOD from the Grazadio Business School at Pepperdine University, an MA in HRD/OD from the University of St. Thomas and a BS in Business Administration. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Organization Behavior, where the focus of her research is building an inclusive environment. Lisa has taught Change Leadership in the Executive MBA program at Notre Dame, Diversity & Inclusion at UNLV and currently serves as adjunct faculty for Pepperdine University, helping to prepare the OD consultants of the future.
With a goal of helping organizations build diverse and inclusive workplaces, Lisa recently launched IDEAL Partner Group. IDEAL, which stands for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership, is dedicated to closing gaps in representation, removing systemic barriers and building inclusive leaders who engage ad retain high performing talent.
