Kelly Souders

Kelly Souders has been part of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Team since 1998.  Originally starting in Engineering and then moving into the Project Management Field and now running the Carrier Team One Program as the Program Director.

She is passionate about ensuring we are sharing knowledge on all levels in our Carrier Maintenance Community effectively and ultimately reaching our vision to be a professional community that delivers CVNs to the Fleet from maintenance availabilities reliably and affordably, ready to execute their enduring National Defense mission.

As Program Director, Kelly guides the team to continually - Ask, Improve and Share – to ensure our teams are enabling a high velocity learning environment, inviting innovation, nurturing collaboration and developing and empowering our CVN Community.

Kelly studied mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech, where she also worked with teens through Young Life to mentor them and grow them in their own development.
Outside of work, she spends most of her time raising her three energetic young boys with her husband Jason. You will find her mostly on a soccer field or at their church as a family.
