Dewey Dorsett
Senior Advisor, APQC
Since joining APQC in 2015, Dewey Dorsett has helped clients improve performance by aligning change initiatives with organizational, strategic goals. As a senior advisor in APQC’s Advisory Services group, Dewey has extensive experience in process and performance management (PPM), team building, team facilitation, knowledge management (KM) and change management. In addition to skillfully guiding clients through improvement projects, he is a highly regarded instructor for APQC’s training courses.
A certified Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Master Black Belt, Dewey has been a lead consultant and senior advisor for more than 20 years to both the service and manufacturing industries. His experience includes work with functions in research and development, operations, sales, supply chain, services, and finance. His diverse experience spans process and product design, process architecture, scorecard development, Lean/Six Sigma deployments, business process redesign, and supply chain management.
Dewey is experienced in design of experiments, variables analysis, quality function deployment, Blue Ocean strategic design, and TRIZ design techniques. Prior to joining APQC, Dewey served as a LSS Master Black Belt with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., supporting functions in research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, and sales. and coaching projects and initiatives in design, manufacturing, pricing, and product delivery.
Earlier in his career, he served as a consultant with Meritus, LLC, a joint venture between IBM and Coopers and Lybrand Consulting, and managed his own practice for 13 years. He has strong international experience working with leadership teams in N.A., Europe, Africa, the mid-East and Asia, and lived in Sierra Leone, West Africa from 1980 to 1983, serving in a U.S. Peace Corps agricultural and fisheries program.
Dewey earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
