Chalker, a veteran leader of membership-driven organizations, shares APQC’s commitment to quality and process improvement and brings international insight
(HOUSTON, TEXAS – May 14, 2020) – APQC, the benchmarking and best practices authority, has elected Bob Chalker, chief executive officer of NACE International (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) to its board of directors.
“Bob Chalker is the ideal candidate to join the APQC board of directors at this point in our 40-year history,” says Carla O’Dell, APQC’s chairman of the board. “He understands how to navigate the challenges of a dynamic mission and membership-driven organization. He has an international perspective and is a long-time practitioner and advocate of process improvement. I, along with the other officers of APQC and the board of directors, look forward to working with Bob as we navigate—and invent—the ‘new normal.’”
NACE International is the world’s leading professional association dedicated to protecting assets, people and the environment from the adverse effects of corrosion. In his decade-long career with NACE International, Chalker has led member-centric cultural change; expanded NACE’s presence globally through the establishment of operations in China, India, Brazil, Middle East and Europe; and achieved ISO9001:2015 certification, a first for the industry.
“It is an honor to serve on APQC’s Board of Directors,” Chalker says. “I’ve seen first-hand APQC’s important and valuable work for our projects at NACE International. I look forward to supporting their efforts to serve their members’ needs, especially at a time when businesses are facing an ambiguous future and need APQC’s expert guidance more than ever.”
Prior to joining NACE International, Chalker was managing director of ASQ Global (American Society for Quality). Previously, he was director of global sales and marketing for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International.
